About Neoballast

We are a startup promoted by two prestigious business groups in the fields of infrastructure (COMSA Corporación) and construction materials engineering (MAPEI).

The origins of Neoballast go back to 2011, when the research project was launched at European level. In 2019, the company Neoballast S.L., with offices in Barcelona, was founded. It has an enthusiastic technology and innovation team that has developed a new railway ballast technology protected through the registration of different international patents. The project is now in the final phase for its industrial scale-up and market launch.

By overlaying conventional ballast with advanced materials, our Neoballast solution allows improvements in vibration and mechanical performance of the rail track as well as an extension of its life cycle.
