ADIF FIELD TEST ON LINE

The advantages of Neoballast have been demonstrated in real conditions, with a pilot test having been carried out on a railway track open to traffic. In June 2019, a test was carried out on a conventional Adif track with mixed passenger and freight traffic between Sils and Maçanet de la Selva, in Girona.

The results offer the following conclusions:

Neoballast reduces vibrations overall by 6 dB. The higher the speed, the greater the attenuation.
Higher degradation of conventional ballast versus constant Neoballast behaviour.
The Neoballast settlement is higher at the beginning but converges faster.

FIELD TEST IN METRO BARCELONA

Neoballast has also been tested on Line 5 of the Barcelona Metro, specifically on a section near Hospital Clínic station.

The conclusions of this pilot test show that:

Neoballast reduces vibrations at the tunnel gable end by 5 dB.
Vibration levels in the road above the Neoballast section increase more slowly than on the conventional ballast section, indicating less degradation of Neoballast.
Very limited seating.
